Sudbury Animal Advocates

Protect All Animals!

The Sudbury Animal Advocates

The Sudbury Animal Advocates was founded in the summer of 2003 to protest the cruel treatment of animals in circuses.  We have since become involved in fighting all kinds of animal cruelty.

The Mandate of the Sudbury Animal Advocates is to advocate for the protection of all animals from injustice and suffering.

We do this through lobbying, public awareness and non-violent direct action.

Some of the activities of the Sudbury Animal Advocates since 2003:

Ø  Conducted a survey on candidates of the 2003 municipal election on animal issues

Ø  Worked with animal rescue groups to successfully lobby the municipal government for a spay/neuter subsidy program

Ø  Demonstrated against the cruel treatment of animals by circuses, rodeos and Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants

Ø  Started an e-mail network to keep people informed about our events and about animal protection issues

Ø  Presented to high school students about the plight of circus animals

On-Going S.A.A Activities;

Ø  Hosting vegetarian potlucks on the last Sunday of every month

Ø  Information tables at festivals and conferences

Ø  Holding movie screenings on animal protection issues

Ø  Meeting with elected representatives about animal protection issues

Ø  Networking with other organizations that help animals and the environment
